Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program
Core Recovery offers a dedicated adolescent intensive outpatient program for adolescents between the ages of 13-17 with moderate to severe depression, anxiety, or other mental health or addiction-related conditions.
A teenager’s mental health is as important as their physical health, but sometimes the symptoms are more challenging to recognize than with a physical disorder. While it isn’t always easy for family and friends to identify when an adolescent is suffering from a mental, emotional, or substance use issue, recognizing signs and symptoms early on can be vital for their long-term well-being.
Core Recovery’s adolescent IOP has the same service offerings as the adult IOP, but group sessions are offered every weekday afternoon to accommodate school schedules. The adolescent group is limited to teenagers, who can engage with one another based on shared interests and experiences. At Core Recovery, we are proud of the respectful, accepting, and judgment-free environment established and maintained in our adolescent group therapy setting.

At Core Recovery, we believe that family plays an essential role in the patient’s treatment and can lead to a more rewarding and successful outcome. For these reasons, a parent, guardian, spouse, or partner is encouraged to attend a family systems therapy session once a week with their loved one.
Our Family Systems Program is committed to strengthening family relationships, educating families on addiction, mental health, and the support that exists for the family themselves.
We believe that ongoing support during and after treatment is necessary for our patient’s redirection of their lives and for reaching and maintaining sobriety.
How to Know if IOP is Right for You
The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to help those struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, or addictions with an integrative treatment approach.
IOP is a good treatment option for those that don’t quite need the level of care the partial hospitalization program provides but would benefit from multiple types of therapy each week.
Those in our integrative IOP program can learn about the triggers of their anxiety, depression, or addictions and healthy options for coping with and managing those triggers.
Patients receive group therapy, 1:1, and family sessions to help build stronger support relationships.
Our Intensive Outpatient Program offers:
- A biopsychosocial approach to strengthen neglected areas of a patient’s life
- Relaxation and visualization techniques
- Encouragement and support of positive beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and attitudes regarding change
- Learning to incorporate pro-social skills

How Long Is the Intensive Outpatient Program?
Core Recovery’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for chemical dependency, trauma, and mental health generally requires group therapy three to four days per week and individual and family systems therapy once per week.
Group therapy sessions are three hours long, and Core Recovery offers flexible scheduling options to meet your needs. We offer programs for adolescents (13-17 years old) and adults (18+). The length of the program is tailored to the patient and designed to create a transition to a happier and more rewarding life. Our team can help you get your life back. You deserve it!
The Benefits of IOP
Core Recovery provides integrative treatment for mental health and substance abuse utilizing the most current evidence-based practices for adults and adolescents. In addition to providing care for our patients, we integrate family into treatment by encouraging them to attend family sessions.
These sessions are designed to help build a strong support network and better relationships that benefit our patients even after completing the program.
